Chandikhol

Chandikhole, a town in the Jajapur district in Orissa, is named after Goddess 'Chandi' who was worshipped by late monk Baba Bhairabananda Bramhachari. In 1932, he built the deity of Maa Chandi in one of the adjoining hills of Barunei which is full of thick jungle and fierce animals. Chandikhol is known for being a striking picnic spot with its natural beauty and calmness.

Chandikhole is based on one of the end points of the National Highway 200 which has Raipur on its other end. Chandikhole, lying 40 km away from Cuttack and 26.4 KM (16.4 miles) from Jajpur, is passed through by National Highway 5. Biju Patnaik Airport at the state capital Bhubaneswar is the closest Airport of Chandikhole, 65 km away from there.
