At Deuli Hill, the twin hills, the biggest range of rock cut caves are found intensely. The remains of a grand stupa can be spotted here along with several laterite blocks, bricks, brickbats and pottery atop the Deuli hill. You can spot from the eastern side the ancient staircase heading towards the stupa.
A stupa of Asokan period and the ruins of monolithic pillar have also been unearthed in the recent excavation. According to the archeological findings, this site is related to the 3rd century BC – Asokan Period. As per a written work of the Chinese traveler in Odra country, the stupa revealed here might have been among the commemorative stupa constructed by Ashoka.
